The given line graph compares the number of shops closed and opened in a specific country over the course of 8 years from 2011 to 2018. Overall, both shop closures and openings experienced a fluctuation along with the downward trend.
In 2011, the number of shop openings was the highest among other years with over 8000. However in 2012, there was a significant drop, just under 4000. Although it dropped in 2012, it recovered in 2013 and 2014 which showed an upward trend even still below the starting point (only at 5000 in 2013 and 6000 in 2014). Afterward, in the next year (2015), there was a decrease of exactly 4000 and this also has the same number as in 2016. In 2017, there was a slight growth, a little bit over 4000. However, in 2018, there was a decline at 3000, and this became the lowest number of shop openings in a specific country.
On the other hand, the number of shops that closed was started at more than 6000 in 2011, after which experienced a decrease in 2012 at exactly 6000 and climbed again in 2013 at 7000 which became the highest point among other years. However, after 2013, there was a lot of drop, especially in 2015 which had a plunge, well under 1000. Even though in 2016 it climbed up again, the number of shops that closed experienced a downward trend.
