The chart below shows the number of travelers (in millions) using three different types of transport in a specific European country between 2000 and 2020.
The line graph illustrates how many people used three kinds of transport – car, bus, and train – in a European country over a twenty-year period from 2000 to 2020.
Overall, it is clear that the car was the most popular form of transport throughout the entire period. While the use of cars and trains saw an upward trend, the number of people traveling by bus showed a gradual decline.
Looking at the data for cars, there were 5 million users in 2000. This figure rose steadily to reach approximately 7 million in 2010, before hitting a peak of 9 million by 2020. Similarly, train travel started at a low of 2 million users. It increased slowly for the first ten years and then grew more quickly, ending the period at 5 million users.
In contrast, bus transport started at 4 million users in 2000, which was higher than the train. However, the number of bus passengers fluctuated slightly and then fell to about 3 million in 2020. By the end of the period, the bus became the least used form of transport among the three.
