The quantity of travellers remained stable between 1980 and 1985 at 4 million, but experienced a significant decrease by 1.8 million individuals over the next three decades. In the meantime, the number of visitors to Shenzhen Museum stood at well under 4 million in 1980, then dropped to approximately 3 million in 2000, before rising once more to around 4 million individuals in 2015.
