This was followed by radio at roughly 58% and newspaper at 51%. Subsequently, the television’s figure exhibited a plunge to nearly 57% in 2007 before declining steadily to a half in 2025. Both radio and newspaper displayed a consistent decline in their popularity throughout the period. Those figures decreased at the same rate with predictions to reach about 30% and 25% in 2025 respectively.
As for the Internet, the figure demonstrated an upward trajectory as opposed to three other sources. The proportion of people retrieving news from the Internet accounted for 0%, which was the lowest figure at the beginning of period. The Internet exhibited a modest increase of only 2% in the number of individuals accessing news in 2005 before rocketing to 40% by the end of 2020, surpassing radio and newspaper. It is predicted that the Internet would outnumber television to become the most popular news platform in 2025.
