.The line graph shows the tendency in percentage of young adults altering to a vegetarian diet in the UK from 1960 to 2020.
To begin with, a sharp increase is shown of adolescents choosing a diet without meat from 1960 to 1980. Rising from 0% reaching a peak of 15%. Nevertheless, for the next ten years the amount of young vegetarians decreases considerably to around 6%.
Following this trend, from 1990 to 2000s we can observe a fluctuation between 7% and 3% in the percentage of the adolescent population that chose not to eat meat. Nonetheless, there is a slight increase in the percentage of vegetarians until 2010 when the percentage levels off at almost 10% for the next ten years.
Overall, the highest peak was reached in 1980, over the next few years it is expected that a small portion of the adolescent population will switch to a diet restricted from meat.
