The line graph illustrates how people of four different demographics went to the cinema every month from 1984 to 2003.
Overall, all four groups experienced an upward trend over the period. It can also be seen that younger individuals tended to attend the cinema more than their older counterparts with the 15-24 age group taking the dominant position while the 35+ one witnessed the opposite pattern.
Starting at approximately 18%, the proportion of young adults( 15-24 year-old) who went to a cinema then gradually rose to around 33% in 1992, followed by fluctuations from around 31% to just over 50%. Finally, the figure grew to its peak in 2003, reaching roughly 56%. Meanwhile, just over 10% of children between the ages of 7-14 attended monthly the cinema in 1984, after which, the percentage increased with fluctuations to just under 40%. However, it then underwent a significant decrease, ending up at just over 30%.
In 1984, there were about 5% of adults(25-35-year-old) visited the cinema per month, this demographic then witnessed a slow rise to around 18% in 2000, followed by a similar trend but to a greater extent for 3 years later, reaching 30% at the end of the period. For the older people, the proportion started only at less than 5%. Subsequent growth was recorded and the figure ended at around 13%.
