The line graph gives information about the proportion of individuals in different age brackets who visited the cinema at least once per month in a country from 1978 to 2008.
Overall, all age cohorts followed a similar trend throughout the period from 1978 to 2008. The percentage of visitors in the cinema were in 35-49 ages group and more than 50 years old group which were higher than that of other groups during the period. while the level of the 14-24 took the lead during the period, its from the youngest people was consistently lowest .
Looking first at the younger age groups, both remained at relatively high levels throughout the period, with some minor flactuation .The proportion of people aged 14-24 was the highest throughout the period, remaining relatively stable at around 90%, despite a slight decrease to about 87% in 1988. Similarly, the figure for the 25-34 group began at approximately 80% in 1978 before dropping significantly to around 60% in 1988. However, it then rose sharply to nearly 80% in 1998 and remained unchanged afterwards.
Turning to older age groups, their figures were lower, both groups followed a similar upward over the period. The percentage of those aged 35-49 decreased from around 60% in 1978 to 50% in 1988, before increasing steadily to about 70% in 1998 .At the end of the period , there was a slight decline trend of that . Meanwhile, the 50+ group had the lowest proportions , dropping from just over 40% which was the lowest point to 30% in 1988, then gradually rising to just above 50% by the end of the period.
