The bar chart gives detailed information about the proportion of European countries’ people visiting cinema on different days of week between 2003 and 2007.
Overall, it is clearly seen that there was high proportion of people visiting cinema at the weekends including Friday while reverse was true for other days. Additionally, visits on Saturday accounted for the highest share over the give period.
Visits on Friday, Saturday and Sunday showed much bigger figures compared to other categories. In 2003, 40% of people went to the cinema on Saturday and this figure further increased to 45% in 2005 before reducing to 42% in 2007. Visitors at the end of the week started at 30 % in 2003, after which it saw a negligible rise to 34% in 2005. In 2007, figure for Sunday visits dropped to 32%. Friday visitors’ percentage remained stable over the given period, with 30%.
By contrast, the figures were smaller for the remaining categories. Visits to the cinema showed nearly similar pattern on Tuesday and Thursday, with 20% and 17% in 2003, 17% and 14% in 2005 and 18% and 19% in 2007, respectively. Percentage of visits was recorded much less on Monday and Wednesday, with the former 10% in 2003, 14% in 2005 and 12% in 2007 as for latter figure 16% in 2003, 14% in 2005 and 8% in 2007
