The chart illustrates the number of five types of items sold in four various seasons at a departmental store in the US in 2011.
Overall, women’s clothes were in the greatest demand for the whole year, whereas othes items had its peak of sales only in one of the seasons. However, only sales of sport equipment were equally highly popular twice a year.
More specifically, in winter, the sales of women’s clothes accounted for 40,000 dollars, while the sales of men’s clothes, sports equipment and costemics were at an approximately same level at roughly 30,000 dollars, with sports equipment being the most sold. Regarding jewellery, its sales were 20,000 dollars. Additionally, in spring, women’s clothes and sports equipment sales were the highest, accounting for 60,000 and 40,000 dollars respectively. Men’s clothes and cosmetics sales were equally sold for 20,000 dollars. However, jewellery was again the least sold product with just under 20,000 dollars.
As regards summer and autumn, the sales of women’s clothes were leading, while the figure for other items fluctuated noticeably, accounting for 40,000 dollars men’s clothes brought, yet for just over 20,000 dollars of sports equipment. Furthermore, the sales of other items rose by autumn, which was the only one season when the sales of jewellery overtook other products.
