Overall, the sale of women’s clothes at the department store was significantly higher than that of other items in all seasons, while the least was recorded in men’s clothes. It is also clear that the figures for jewellery, cosmetics, and sports equipment witnessed growth, with the former going from the last to the second best sold product in the last season.
Looking at the details, the clothes of women were the most sold product at the department store over the year 2011. To be more specific, it increased by identical numbers in spring and summer, which was 20,000. In autumn, this figure also increased further, strengthening its lead. In contrast, the figure for men’s clothes declined markedly in spring to 20,000, before doubling in the summer. In the last season, however, this figure went down by one quarter again.
Regarding the other items’ sales figures, jewellery witnessed one of the most dramatic changes. To be more precise, it stood at around 20,000, before dropping slightly in the spring. After that, it experienced an upward trend in the last season and accounted for approximately 50,000, becoming the second best in the list. As for sports equipment and cosmetics, these figures started with almost the same numbers, with the former being slightly higher. In the spring, the latter decreased noticeably to 20,000, and the former rose, constituting twice as much as cosmetics, while the opposite trend can be seen in the summer. Lastly, they both witnessed considerable increases, reaching their all-time high.
