The line graph illustrates the total book sales at three bookstores in Bayside City in 2023. Overall, there was an increase in the number of books sold at all three bookshops examined, with the most dramatic rise being seen in the figure for Frugal Muse. In addition, Barnes & Noble had the highest figures in most of the period, which were overtaken by Frugal Muse in the last month.
To begin, it can be observed that the quantity of book sales at Barnes & Noble started at around 23,000, after which it experienced a gradual growth to about 28,000 in May, before reaching a peak of approximately 42,000 in August and ending the period at exactly 27,500. The figure for Cozy Corner in the first month, moreover, was merely 18,000, followed by a wild upward fluctuation to about 33,000 in July, and a sharp drop to 22,000 a month later. This figure had continued to stay unchanged by the end of the period.
Similar changes, but to greater extents, were seen in the figure for Frugal Muse, which increased slightly from just over 5,000 in January to around 9,000 in February before leveling off towards the next month. Afterwards, this figure witnessed a marginal decline to about 4,000 in May, and a substantial climb to approximately 36,000 at the end of the period.
