In the UK, nearly one-third (30%) of the expenditure is spent on rent, making it the most significant expense, followed by food at 18%, next comes in transport and going out with both sharing a measily 15%, next is spending on books, which comes about at 12%, and lastly, the least amount of spending is allocated for DVDs, coming in at about 10%.
A similar pattern is observed in the United States, with most of the expenses being spent on food, at a quarter of expenses (25%), followed by rent at 20%, which is 10% lower than the amount of expenses spent on rent in the UK, meanwhile, similarly to the UK, transport and going out come next, shared with books in the US, all experiencing the same amount of expenses at 15%, and lastly DVDs have the least amount of spending with 10%, which is the same amount spent on DVDs in the UK.
