The line graph illustrates the average monthly spending on different sports for children and the number of children taking part in said sports between 2008 and 2014.
Overall, it is clear that football was consistently popular among the children, remaining the dominant sport during the given period, while swimming rose steadily. As for atheltics it increased gradually in participations, with slight fluctatuions.
At first glance, it is Noticeable that football had large number of kids partaking in it, with an intial montlhy expenditure of around 8.2 million in 2008. Although there was a marginal dip in 2010; close to 7.8 million, it slowly inclined reaching a peak of roughly 9,000,000 in 2014. On the other hand, swimming was around 2 million in 2008, having a higher participation rate than athletics, and by 2014 it recorded an additional 2 million.
Atheletics started with the lowest intake of children compared to the other two categories with less than 1 million kids choosing the activity and it continued to plateued till 2010, where it dramatically surged in participations and by 2012 it mutlipled nearly 5 folds. However there was a marginal drop of around 500,000 in 2014.
