Task Response

The report attempts to address the task but contains significant inaccuracies in data reporting that conflict with the provided visual description. While the structure follows a logical progression (introduction, overview, and body paragraphs), the specific figures mentioned (e.g., drama films increasing to 35% or romance decreasing to nearly 0%) do not align with the data provided in the description. To improve, ensure that all numerical data cited is accurately extracted from the charts and that comparisons between the two categories (releases vs. sales) are clearly and correctly articulated.

Coherence & Cohesion

The report follows a logical structure with an introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. However, the cohesion is weakened by several issues. There are missing spaces after commas and periods, which disrupts the visual flow. Furthermore, some cohesive devices and transitions are used awkwardly, making the progression of ideas feel somewhat disjointed. To improve, ensure consistent spacing and use a wider variety of linking words to connect ideas more smoothly between sentences.

Lexical Resource

The vocabulary used is somewhat repetitive and, in some instances, inaccurate in its application. For example, terms like 'remained intact' or 'saw inclination' are not used in a natural or precise way in this context. There is also a lack of variety in how proportions and changes are described. To reach a higher band, aim for more precise academic collocations (e.g., 'experienced a marginal increase' instead of 'saw inclination') and ensure that the words chosen accurately reflect the data trends.

Grammatical Range & Accuracy

The report attempts a range of structures, but grammatical errors are frequent and occasionally impede clarity. There are issues with subject-verb agreement, article usage, and sentence construction (e.g., 'the percentage of films released witnessed slight decline in 1996' is missing an article and the logic of the timeframe is slightly confused). Additionally, the punctuation errors (missing spaces) affect the overall presentation. Focus on mastering complex sentence structures and ensuring that articles (a, an, the) are used correctly to improve accuracy.
