Given are two pie graphs illustrating the expenditure habits of people in the UK from 1971 to 2001. Generally, as can be apparently indicated from the two pictures, there were more categories of spending in 2001 compared to 1971.
Upon analyzing the form of these two graphs, we can obviosuly observe in detail that the expenditure of petrol represented the biggest share in 1971, with 36%. Meanwhile, furniture was another main contributor, with 32%. However, both proportions experienced a significant decline during this period, to only 8%. Moreover, the trajectory of restaurants spending shows similarity, decreasing from 25% to 14% in 2001. In contrast, the expenditure on computers increased by 5% during this period.
On the other hand, although the car was the new spending habit, it occupied the biggest proportion in 2001, with 43%. At the same time, food expenditure constituted 14%, representing the second-largest share. Additionally, book costs, as a new habit, only comprised a mere 1% in 2001.
