The illustration shows two possible locations for the construction of a new supermarket. As shown on the map Garlsdon has a population of 65000 residents and one of the possible sites is outside the town whereas the other one is in the town center. The map also provides various information on infrastructures such as housing, railway, main roads, and industrial zones.
The first possibility for a supermarket site is in the countryside, on the west of the main road that goes out from the town center and north of the railway. Although this choice is far from the town center and some of the housings, in contrast to the alternative, it provides the possibility of an easy access to reach by vehicles and a possibility of a vast parking lot.
On the other hand, the second possibility is right in the town center, surrounded by residents housing, which has industry sites on north and south sides. While the railway goes through the town center, the main roads are not accessible making it a no traffic zone. Despite the fact that the second option is nearer to the housing, it may not be as accessible for residents living in outskirts of the town, due to it being no traffic zone.
