The diagram illustrates the process of making chocolate, which consists of ten stages. It all begins with the growing of pods on cacao trees and culminates in the production of chocolate.
Cocoa comes from the cacao tree, which is primarily grown in South America, Africa, and Indonesia. Once the pods are ripe and turn a vibrant red, they are harvested, and the white cocoa beans are extracted. After a period of fermentation, the beans are spread out on large trays to dry under the sun.
Next, the dried beans are placed into large sacks and delivered to the factory. At the factory, they are roasted at a temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit. After roasting, the beans are crushed to separate them from their outer shells. In the final stage of the process, the inner part of the beans is pressed to produce chocolate.
