The diagram illustrates how carbonated drinks are produced. Overall, it is a five-stage automated process which starts with the raw water purification, followed by carbonation and then mixing with additional ingredients. At the final stage the beverage is bottled and canned to be sent to retailers.
during which raw water is turned into bottled and canned beverages for sale.
The process begins with the three-step cleaning stage during which water is first filtered, then softened and chemicalized. After that it is pumped into electric heaters and run through a cooling pipe into a large tank where it is mixed with carbon dioxide.
During the next stage, the carbonated water goes down the angle-wise pipe into a multifunctional mixing tank. At this stage three ingredients (colouring, syrup and flavour) are added to make the drink more attractive for consumers. The mixture has to undergo one more filtering before being bottled or canned. Finally, the bottles and cans are packed into boxes and sent to supermarkets.
