In "Lakeside 2000," the map features a lake with an "Old Town" to its left, a "Derelict warehouse" above the lake, a "Residential area" to the right of the lake and above the "Old Town," an "Art Centre" below the "Old Town," a "School" below the "Art Centre," a "Residential area" below the "School," an "Industrial complex" to the right of the "Residential area" and below the lake, and another "Residential area" below the "Industrial complex," all areas separated by a wavy "River" running from the bottom left to top right of the map. The given maps illustrate changes that took place in Lakeside between 2000 and 2009.Overall, there were a number of notable changes to the buildings and amenities of this area.
The residential area in northwest remained the same as the school and the river, which were located in the centre of the map.The old town above the school was demolished and replaced by offices and universities. Likewise, the derelict houses were knocked down to place car park for residents. Moreover, an art centre and residential area, which were located north of the river, gave a way for cinema and shopping centre in 2009, respectively.
It is clearly seen that in the east of the oldtown in 2000, the lake was drained and turned into a pond in 2009.Due to the development in the Lakeside, the industrial complex on the southeast was expanded which led to the abolishment of the residential area in this place.(153 words)
