The illustrations give information of 3 hotels showing how the rooms are occupied during a tourist season in a town and also various factors which might have affected how they were full.
Overall, it can be seen that fewer percentage of rooms were occupied in the month of June compared to August and July; it may be due to affect of various factors including train strike
To begin with, in the month of June train strike took place from June 4 – June 8. Although Park Hotel has more rooms filled about 50% compared to Lakeside and Lux having 40% and 35% respectively, might be reason that the Park Hotel did not get much affected from the train strike.
Later, in the month of July, the occupancy of all the 3 hotels have skyrocketed. Hotel Lux standing on the top with 90% filled room, followed by Lakeside and Park Hotel having near to 80% each. As Arts festival took place from July 3- July 12, this might be the reason to boost the fillings of the hotels.
Finally, in the month of August, the regional sports championships took place from August 15 – 19. Unfortunately, the rooms occupied in Lakeside Hotel have drastically dip down having only 20% due to a fire accident taken place on July 28 in the hotel. Whereas, the Park the Lux hotel have a greater advantage of this events taken place 70% of booking have been made in both the hotels making them stand on top.
