Among the countries with a higher percentage, Germany, Italy, and France experienced modest increases from 2000 to 2012. For instance, France’s proportion rose from 25% to around 32%, and Germany saw a 5% increase to nearly 37% by 2012. Italy surpassed Germany, starting at close to 27% and reaching a peak of 39% by the end of the period.
In contrast, Belgium had a significant increase from about 17% to 24% over 8 years before dropping slightly to approximately 23% in 2012. The UK had the lowest percentage of female members in 2000, at about 3%. However, by the end of the period, the UK had increased to around 3%, similar to Belgium’s figure.
