The line graph illustrates the results of a survey and 4 different reasons why individuals moved to the capital city of a particular country.
Overall, the reasons for employment and study showed the highest number of citizens, while the opposite was true for the family/friends and adventure. It is noteworthy that, except from employment, all of them increased stable.
Inn 2000, employment was already the dominant reason, with approximately 35,000 respondents, and it continued to rise steadily, reaching a peak of around 85,000 by 2015. This represented the most substantial increase among all categories, with a rise of 50,000 over the 15-year period. In contrast, study accounted for about 20,000 in 2000, then climbed to roughly 50,000 in 2005 before undergoing a modest decline to approximately 45,000 in 2015, still more than double its starting figure.
By comparison, family and friends and adventure were far less common reasons. The former remained relatively stable, starting at around 10,000 in 2000 and ending at close to 12,000 in 2015, indicating a rise of just 2,000. Meanwhile, adventure, although the least cited reason at the outset with only about 2,000 responses, exhibited a consistent upward trajectory, culminating at around 10,000 by 2015 – a fivefold increase, yet still substantially lower than employment and study figures.
