In overall, for the most part of the 40 year period, Atherton University was the most popular educational institution among the consistent fall in enrollment.
In 1980, Atherton University and The University of Lakewood both received approximately 4,500 applications, double the figure for Alstead University. However, The University of Lakewood experienced a sharp decrease to just over 3,000 in 1985, then continued to decline. In contrast, the number of Atherton admission applications rose steadily, reaching 5,000 in 1995. During the same period, Alstead University recorded an upward trend in 1985, which nearly doubled and reached 4,000. Nevertheless, from 1985 to 1995, Alstead University remained unchanged, while Lindslade College fluctuated over the period, reaching only approximately 2,000 in 1995.
From 1995, the figure for The University of Lakewood continued to decrease gradually, then reached 2,500 applications in 2010. On the other hand, the number of Atherton University admission applications rose sharply, before experienced a slight decline in 2005 and then amounting to above 6,000 in 2010. Likewise, the figure for Alstead applications grew abruptly and reached a peak at 5,500 in 2005. Even so, the number of Alstead University also witnessed a decrease in the end of the period, stood at above 4,000. The figure for Lindslade College reported a variation in the same period, then stood at 3,000 in the end.
