The line chart displays the proportion of people whos age is 65 and over to people who are younger in Japan, Sweden and USA beginning from 1940 and lasting for one century.
From the graph we can see that all 3 lines start from low positions nearly to each other and finish also nearly to each other but in much higher positions.
Japan in 1940s had the lowest percentage of people over 65, nearly 5%, and it kept decreasing until 1990s. Then it started to increase, in 2000s Japan got old people’s count as in 1940s. The ratio of old people doubled in two decades after that, but it wasn’t the end, another two decades after it doubled one more time and finished at over 25% in 2040.
The ratio of old people to young of USA and Sweden was almost similar all over the time. They started from below 10% and increased steadily and finished at almost 25%.
