Overall, there was an increase during the period with a significant change in the number of citizens who used cellular phones, while landline users slightly dropped. And interestingly, the number of residents who used fixed and mobile broadband fluctuated in nearly the same way.
Starting with under 10% in 1998, cellular and internet has gained public interests, hence, their share went up together to be the first and the second attractive way of communication. In particular, cellular phone users remarkably increased from around 5% to a mere 67% after 10 years, and the number of people who used internet also went up to more than 20% during the same period.
Although landline service witnessed a gradual and stable increase in the number of users from 1998 to 2006, it slightly dropped down for around 2% in 2008. Next, fixed and mobile broadband experienced the same trend, and remained stable for 8 years since 1998. However, their figures slightly rose together and reached a mere 5% in 2008.
