The line graph illustrates the average number of visitors in a particular museum in the UK during winter and summer season in 2005.
Overall, despite the identical numbers of visitors at 0:00 am and 6:pm, summer consistently dwarfed winter in terms of attendance for most of the day. Notably, the museum recorded the highest number of visitors in the middle hours in both seasons.
Looking first at the summer, the museum had virtually unheard of visitors at the start of the day, with no participants recorded until surging to approximately 1.300 at 10:00 am. Thereafter, its attendance peaked at 12:00 am, reaching roughly 1.500 visitors, which represented the highest figure observed in the day. However, this peak was short-lived, as the number of visitors continuously decreased throughout the afternoon, ultimately plummeting to zero at 6:00 pm, when the museum closed.
A similar trajectory has been noticed in the winter season, albeit at a much smaller scale. Beginning at 0:00 am with no visitors, attendance climbed up to about 400 at 10:00 am before dipping slightly in the next hours. Nevertheless, an exponential recovery was observed, as its figure peaked at 600 at 12:00, which mirrored this trend in the summer. This upward trend was terminated by a collapse of visitors in the afternoon hours, gradually falling to the lowest point at 3:00 am, since there are no further visitors recorded for the remainder of the day.
