The line graph and pie chart illustrate data on the relationship between age and crime and the different types of crimes in the UK, last year.
Overall, younger people tended to commit more crimes than older people, and the most common type of crime was violent ones.
People aged 0 to 8 did not commit any crime, but between 8 and 12 they begin to slowly start with approximately 5,000 incidents reported last year. This figure snowballs to around 70,000, between 12 and 16 years old, and peaks at 80,000 at 20 years old. This number plummets to 20,000 crimes with 28-year-olds, and a slow decline is seen until reaching about 6,000 crimes committed by 60-year-olds.
Furthermore, Almost half (46%) of these crimes were violent ones. Property and drug crime came next with 23% and 22%, respectively. The least popular type of crime was public order with as little as 9%.
