From the first graph, there were nearly 20 million vehicles in England and wales in 2000. Over a period of ten years, the number of vehicles increased marginally to 35(million) and is expected that by 2020 the number of vehicles will almost be doubled as compare to 2010.
From the column graph, in the years 2000, 2010 and 2020, there will be four primary sources of carbon emission forcasted in the graph. Among all four modes of transport, since 2000, the car produces the highest rate of carbon and is pridicted to remain highest. Interestingly, the second highest pridiction of emission is by trucks with the similar trend as car emissions was increasing but total amount is significantly less from three folds. Despite these, carbon emission from buses and vans are likely to remain stable at around 0.4 and 0.6 tonnes respectively.
Overall, vehicle numbers are expected to increase in future, and co2 emissions are expected to escalate in future, with major role players are cars and trucks.
