The line graph illustrates the average number of visitors to a museum over an 18-hour period, during summer and winter in 2003. Overall, although both seasons followed a similar pattern, the number of visitors in summer was significantly higher than in winter.
While the number of visitors in both seasons stood at 0 people at the beginning of the day, in the summer figures rose dramatically until 12 o’clock, reaching a peak of more than 1400 people. However, the number then decreased steadily towards the end of the day, reaching the same pattern as the starting point.
Meanwhile, in winter, there was a sharp growth until 10 o’clock, continued by a slight fall for a following hour. Next, the number of visitors recovered again, reaching a high of 600 people, but then the number declined considerably for the following three hours, reaching 0 people in 15 o’clock, which remained unchanged until the end of the period.
