The given line graph illustrates the number of jobs in four different sectors including manufacturing, retail, agriculture and healthcare of the US economy from 1960 to 2020.
Overall, it can be clearly seen that number of jobs in manufacturing sector experienced a significant fall, while jobs in agricultrure and retail sectors saw considerable growth throughout the period. In contrast, jobs in healthcare also saw a dramatic decrease.
During the period from 1960 to 1980, number of jobs in manufacturing experienced significant growth to exactly 20 millions and reached its peak, however then he started dramatically falling and stood at approximately 12 millions by the end of period.
As for retail and agriculture sectors, both of them saw a considerable increase from 1960 starting with almost 2 and 6 millions and ending up with the same figure of 16 millions, which remained the highest figure. Meanwhile, the number of people employed in healthcare showed a gradually drop starting with 6 millions in 1960 and finishing with 2 millions by 2020.
