The given line chart depicts the cycle of economic growth, measured in billion USD and estimated by GDP in Vietnam from 2011 to 2025.
Overall, the economic landscape generally represents a pronounced signal of growth over the period, with the exception of the period between 2020 and 2021. The GDP witnessed a sudden sharp decline from 2019 to 2020, whereas it surged sharply in 2022 before fluctuating considerably onwards.
In the former half of this time range, between 2011 and 2019, the GDP initially commenced at around 6.19 in 2011, then dropped to 5.26 in 2013 and increased to 6.85 in 2015 afterwards. This tendency continued to fluctuate in the next span, with the lowest figure at 6.40 in 2016 and the highest one at 7.35 in 2018. This figure then exhibited a gradual decrease, with the number slightly dropping to 7.30 at the end of this period.
With respect to the final period, a notable fluctuation occurred for the GDP throughout this timeframe. The number of GDP suddenly plummeted to 2.19 in 2020, continuously followed by a significant decline to 1.53 in the following year. However, this momentum reversed unexpectedly in 2022, at which a meteoric rise from 1.53 to 9.44 happened during such a short amount of time, with an increase of more than six times in magnitude. After that, the GDP’s trajectory underwent a huge drop to 4.41 by 2023, while this trajectory once again redirected, reaching 6.91 in 2024 and 7.85 in 2025, respectively.
