The line graph illustrates the percentage of household waste recycled in the UK, France, and Germany over a ten-year period from 2005 to 2015.
Overall, the UK and Germany showed a significant upward trend in recycling rates, while France experienced a steady decline. By the end of the period, the UK had the highest rate of recycling, closely followed by Germany.
In 2005, France had the highest recycling rate at around 50%, followed by the UK at approximately 35%, and Germany at just 20%. However, while the UK’s rate gradually increased throughout the decade, surpassing 60% by 2015, France saw a continuous drop, reaching a low of around 30% by 2013 before slightly rising to just under 40% in 2015.
Germany, on the other hand, experienced the most dramatic improvement. Starting at just 20% in 2005, its recycling rate rose sharply and overtook France around 2009. By 2015, Germany had reached nearly 60%, making it the second highest among the three countries.
