Overall, it is clear that the land increased for organic framing in both countries although India used more land than China.
At the beginning of the period, India and China used around 25 thousand hectares of land each. By 1990, the figure of Indian land increased slightly to almost 40 thousand hectares, while the Chinese land increased quickly to over 50 thousand hectares. After that, the figure of organic food land in India experienced a significant growth, reaching almost 280 thousand hectares by 2000; then the figure declined slightly to around 270 thousand hectares by 2005. After 2005, the Indian organic land size dropped sharply to under 150 thousand hectares by the end of the period.
In contrast, the organic food land in China also followed an upward trend after 1990 and reached almost 190 thousand hectares by 2000. Next, the figure of Chinese organic land decreased steadily to 150 thousand hectares by 2010, and it was slightly higher than Indian organic land.
