The line graph illustrates the number of overseas tourists visiting France, Spain and Japan between 1990 and 2020, measured in millions.
Overall, it is clear that France and Spain experienced a significant increase in the number of tourists over the period, while Japan showed a gradual decline after a slight rise in the beginning. France remained the most popular destination throughout the period.
In 1990, France had about 40 million visitors, which was higher than Spain and Japan, at around 30 million and 35 million respectively. The number of tourists in France increased steadily to approximately 60 million in 2005 and continued to rise to just over 80 million by 2020.
Similarly, Spain showed a strong upward trend. It started at 30 million in 1990 and rose gradually to 40 million in 2000. After that, the figure increased more rapidly, reaching around 60 million in 2010 and about 75 million in 2020.
In contrast, Japan followed a different pattern. The number of tourists increased slightly from 35 million in 1990 to nearly 38 million in 2000. However, after this point, it began to decline gradually, falling to around 33 million in 2010 and reaching approximately 30 million by the end of the period.
