The line graph illustrates the total number of students enrolling in four different majors at a university from 2017 to 2022.
Overall, the engineering program demonstrated steady growth over the years, followed by the humanities and business majors. All three of these programs saw an increase in their total number of students, while the science major experienced fluctuations throughout the period and maintained a consistent number by the end.
In 2017, engineering attracted 1,500 students and continued to grow steadily, reaching nearly 2,000 by the end of 2020. The humanities program started with about 750 students, peaked in 2016 with more than 1,000 students, and then gradually increased to 1,500 students by the end of the period. Conversely, the business major was the least popular, beginning with only 500 students. However, this number experienced a significant rise in 2017 to around 800, followed by a decrease the following year to roughly 600. After 2018, interest in business surged, skyrocketing to 1,800 students in 2019 and approaching 2,000 by the end of the period.
As for the science major, which was the second most popular at the start, it peaked at approximately 1,800 students in 2017. However, it gradually declined to around 1,300 students by 2020.
