The line chart gives information about the proportion of mobile phone users and fixed-line users in Africa from 1994 to 2004.
Overall, it is clear that the percentage of both mobile and fixed-line users increased over time. Therer was a significant rise in the percentage of mobile users, while fixed-line users increased slightly.
Between 1994 and 1999, the proportion of fixed-line users rose slightly, at the begenning the users were at only 1.7 percent whic reached just over 2 percent by 1999, while at the same time, mobile phone users rose by just only 0.4 percent to around 0.6% in 1999.
There was a dramatic growth in the proportion of mobile phone users, over the following five years. The figure for mobile phone users were at 2 percent in 2000, and rose to 8.8 percent in 2004. However, only 3.1 percent users used Fixe-line in 2004, which was just around 5 percent less tham mobile phone users.
