The graph illustrates the percentage of female students in four different courses at one university from 1970 to 2015.
As regards the computer science course, around 35% of female students remain unchanged between1970 and 1980. After some sharp rises and downs, it returned to 25% in 2015 as the same in the beginning. With a similar trend in the beginning, physics course levels at around 30% in the first decade. However, what makes it different from computer science is that after it witnessed a continuous upward trend. Despite the unchanged from 1990 to 1995, it gradually surged to 80% in 2015.
As for medicine course, at first the figure soared quite steadily and moderately before skyrocketed to 70% in 1990. However the rise did not stop there. The figure kept growing progressively, reaching the highest point of 90%, before declined slowly back to 85% in 2015. The law course, which began at around 5% in 1970, experienced an exponential growth from 1975 to 2000. The figure then fluctuated and culminated with a rise to 100% in 2015, which is the highest point amongst all figures.
In general, physics, medicine and law courses witnessed a rise trend except the fact that computer science course did not make any progress in those years.
