The following line chart illustrates the data about recycling rate of four different materials i.e; papers and cardboards, glass containers, aluminum cans, and plastics during 1982 to 2010.

Overall, the percentage of plastics were remained very low throughout the time period. While, the recycling of papers and cardboards were remained on top of the chart throughout the year. The ratio of aluminum cans were also less in the beginning but it increased with the time.

Firstly, as we see in the chart recycling of the plastics were started from 1990, and the percentage of plastics took place between 0% to 10% throughout the duration. However, the recycling of the aluminum cans started from 1984 having percentage of approximately 5%, but with the time it rised and reached 45% in 2010.

Moreover, the percentage of recycling of glass containers remained between 40% to 60%. In starting, 50% glass containers were recycled but it got decreased to 40% in 1990, but after 1990 it again increased reached 60% till 2010. In addition, paper and cardboard were the most recycled item throughtout the time having percentage between 60% to 80%.
