Overall, TV viewing slightly decreased, sports activities also dropped, time spent reading stayed constant and the number of social media use rocket up and remained highest through the period
To begin with, the number of teenagers who watched TV started at just 8 hours in 2000, and went down to around 7 hours in 2005, later it reduced to just 6 hours by 2010 before declined again to 1 hour in 2015 and stayed the same in 2020. Social media use began at under 2 hours in 2000, and it fluctuated between 2 and 3 hours from 2005 to 2010, in 2005 there was growth to approximately 5 hours, and reached the peak to over 10 hours per week in 2020
The number of doing sports started at 6 hours by 2000, then stayed constant from 2005 to 2010 to just 7 hours, later is significantly felt to around 5 hours per week in 2015, at the end of the period it felt down to 4 hours. The figures who spent free time on reading stayed the same from 2000 to 2020
