The line graph illustrates the number of foreign tourists in coastal, lake and mountain areas in European countries between 1987 and 2007.
In 1987, the mountains attracted around 40 overseas tourists, which increased to 75 by 2002 and remain steady until 2007. There was a slight decline to a few people in 1992. In contrast, the lakes show a significant increase in visitor number from approximately 20 in 1987 to the peak of about 60 within 15 years. However, after reaching it, the number went down to 50 in 2007.
Coast shows the most stable increase, starting at around 10 in 1987 and having the same number as the lakes in 1992. Reaching its peak in 2007 with the number approximately 35.
Overall, there is an increase in number of tourists in all three areas throughout the period. While the mountains becoming the most popular, coast stay the less one. And the popularity of lakes is showing fluctuations.
