The line chart below illustrates how multiple types of energy has been consumed in the USA between 1980 and 2040.
Overall, there has been a dramatical increase in the units of geothermal; solar and wind; petrol and oil for 50 years from 1970 and generally anticipated to continuely grow in 2030. While the consumption of nuclear witnessed opposite trends, which constantly decline each 10 years and expected to decrease until 2030.
The figures for petrol and oil started at around 11 billion units, which observed a considerable upward trends to reach approximately 18 billion units in 2020, therefore it is expected to reach a peak of 20 billion units at the end of the period. Similar changes was seen in the number of geothermal, solar and wind; which witnessed a constant grow at 10 and 8 billions units respectively in 2020, before being forcasted to end at around 14 and 12 billion units respectively in last year of the period.
Conversly, the consumption of nuclear energy began at around 7 billion units, which experienced a dramatical decrease to reach under 5 billion units in 2020, before expected to continuely decline to end at nearly 3 billion units at the end of the period.
