The line graph and the pie chart provide data on the number of books borrowed from four village libraries between June and September 2014, and the distribution of book genres borrowed throughout the year, respectively. Overall, Sutton Wood Library saw a noticeable upward trend in the number of books borrowed, while fiction emerged as the most popular genre.
In June, Ryeslip and Sutton Wood Libraries led with 300 and 250 books borrowed, respectively. Over the next three months, the number of books borrowed from Ryeslip gradually decreased to just below 200. In contrast, Sutton Wood’s borrowing figures fluctuated but ultimately peaked at 300 by September. Meanwhile, the other two libraries, which both began and ended the period at similar levels, saw a modest increase from 50 to 100 books.
The pie chart reveals that fiction was the dominant genre, accounting for 43% of the total books borrowed. Biography followed, making up 19%, which was 24 percentage points lower than fiction. Historical and science books each represented 14% of the total, while self-help books were the least popular, comprising only 10% of the borrowed books.
