The USA, which ranked first, started the period with nearly 16 million which drastically rose until 2016, and peaked at roughly 25 million – the highest figure in the entire graph. Meanwhile, Japan initially experienced a plateau phase, after which it registered an upward trajectory, reaching 15 million by 2016. Australia, on the other hand, was an outlier, beginning with a mere 7 million, which marginally increased to 11 million by 2016.
Conversely, in the second half, while Japan and the USA indicated dips, Australia continued to constitute a modest rise. After recording its peak, the US saw a plunge for the rest of the period, hovering at around 16 million in the final year. Japan followed a similar pattern, but it firstly witnessed a dramatic upward trend in 2018, which was immediately followed by a noticeable drop until 2020, ultimately, standing at approximately 16 million.
