The line graph illustrates the amount of people, who live in the UK, in connection with their ability to use different types of recreational activities during 10 years from 1996 to 2006. Units are measured in per cent.

Overall, the use of TV and books as types of recreation increased up to the year 2002. After reaching its top, it began to slowly decrease. In 2002 , with the wider consumpsion of electronic devices and healthy trends, the percentage of people, who prefer listening to music and going to the gym increased. Watching TV and listening to music still occupe the main place in the lives of people, while going to the gym is the less popular option.

With regards to the percentages of people interested in those activities watching TV started with 80 per cent in 1996 and then peaked at about 90 per cent in 2002 before falling a little to 85 per cent in the last year. Reading books took only 40 per cent at the beginnig and faced its top at about 50 per cent in 2002 but dropped to 45 per cent in the final years.

On the other hand, the acess to such activities as going to the gym started only at 10 per cent in 1996 and increased to about 30 per cent in 10 years. The ability to listen to music stayed almost the same during this period. The increase is about 10 per cent in general.
