The line graph gives information about the proportion of the older students (male and female) who did not continued their secondary education till the age of 18 in four countries (Norway, UK , Spain and Italy) from 1996 and 2003. Overall, it is obvious that the country Norway saw the highest rate in both genders during the whole year. Generally, all four countries saw an upward trend.
In 1996, the percentage of females in Norway stood at 90%. After reaching its peak to 100% in 2002, it saw a slight downward trend to 99% in 2003. Followed by – UK, remained at 65% in 1996, before increasing to 85% in 2000. In the next three years that of had remain stable at 85%. The country Spain stood at 68% in 1996. It increased slightly before increasing gradually to 75% in 2003. Generally, Italy saw a slow grow during the whole period to 70% in 2003.
For males, in 1996, Norway was on the rise on the rate of males. It stood at 90%, before having an upward trend to 100% in 2002 reaching its peak. But, then it declined to 91% in 2003. Coming to UK – remained at 65% in 1996 before enlarging to 85% in 2000. Then, it leveled of next three years . Followed by, Italy – after increasing to 65% in 1998, stood at under 60%. Then had slight growth to 69% in 2003. Spain was not widely loved country with standing at 53% in 1996. Before increasing to 55% in 2000, remained stable next three period.
