The graph illustrates the amount of prisoners in a European country between 1911 and 2001.

Looking from an overall perspective, the data for male prisoners saw an upward trend while the opposite belonged to the female population. Moreover, the number of male criminals was higher than the women population in the described period.

In 1911 and 1921, the number of male prisoners was almost 20000 people. In 1931, there was a reduction in male crime population, at 10000 people. In the period from 1931 to 1971, the male population increased from 10000 to around 20000.
