The graph below provides the three main fuels’ resource levels in Europe over 19 years. In general, petroleum and natural gas slightly increased, while the opposite was true for coal. Petroleum was the most produced in the period.
Looking first at petroleum and natural gas, in 1981, petroleum started at nearly 100 tones and natural gas started at 40. 2 years later, natural gas remained stable meanwhile petroleum witnessed a significant rise by about 30 then saw stability before going down to around 100. At the end of the period, there was a quick climb to more than 80 tones and a similar trend to petroleum with ended to 120.
Moreover, at the beginning of that period, coal started at 80 tones before hitting the bottom vertex at around 50 then went up to more than 60. From 1987 to 2000, there was a fluctuation in coal and ended at nearly 40 tones.
