The line graphs illustrate information about the proportion of residents using the means of transportation and utilizing private cars in five areas of Australia, Sydney, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra, and Melbourne in a decade.
Overall, while the highest figure was seen in Sydney, the lowest one was found in Melbourne which increased using public transport. However, in order to private automobiles, it was vice versa between five areas.
According to using public transport, population of Sydney saw a moderate decrease from 20% to 18%, but they were the highest figure in all years. Perth and Melbourne increased same in 2006 which was from 5% to 6% in Perth and from 15% to 17% in Melbourne. Moreover, the figures for Canberra and Adelaide had no changes after 10 years, with respective numbers being 10% and 12%.
At the beginning of the period, 80% of Melbourne public drove their own cars, after it grew to 90% in 2010. Also, Canberra, Perth, and Sydney witnessed a considerable growth which was at around 80%, 55%, and 22% in that order. Likewise, the proportion of individuals using private cars in Perth only experienced 3 % increase, starting from 37% and ending at around 40%.
