The line graph illustrates the data about employment of male and female workers aged from 18 to 34 in Australia between 1976 and 2011.
It is clearly seen that in both years men’s employment rate was higher than women’s and showed better employment with age through the given period while women’s rate demonstrate the opposite to men’s.
In both given years male employment increased with age. In 1976, the figure for men aged 18 was just under 60% and it rose until mid-20 to 70% and remained relatively stable than there was a sharply increase in employment for men aged from 29 and higher. In 2011, the indicator for men began lower from around 42% but grew more rapidly especially for workers aged above 29.
Meanwhile women’s employment rate declined with age. In 1976, the indicator for women aged 18 was just above 50% but this indicator decreased slightly to around 10% or lower by age 34. In 2011, the rate for women started lower at around 48% and fluctuated slightly before gradually decreased to the minimum at age 34.
