The charts present data on the age distribution of Little Chalfont Library members in 2016 and the total number of book loans from 2007 to 2016, categorized by genre.
Overall, the total number of loans increased over the whole period with both children’s and adult fiction being the most popular. As for the library’s members, adults, particularly those aged 18 to 64, made up the largest part.
According to the pie chart, adults aged 18 to 64 made up the largest group of library members, accounting for 51%. Children accounted for 22%, while young adults 13-17 and adults 65 and over, were almost the same. Furthermore, both adult and children’s fiction were by far the most popular categories, each making up 38% of all loans. While, children’s DVDs and adult audios books show approximately the same. Moreover, the figures for adult and children’s non-fiction were fairly close, standing at 13% and 6% respectively.
The total number of loans increased steadily from around 15,000 in 2007 to a peak of over 21,000 in 2011. Although there was a slight decline in 2013, the numbers recovered and remained consistently above 20,000 from 2014 to 2016, indicating strong and stable library usage.
